UAE worker protection schemes pay out more than Dh832 million

## Compensation and Support for Workers

The UAE's Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has reported that more than Dh832 million was distributed to workers in the first half of 2026. This compensation was part of the Workers Protection Programme, benefiting over 44,000 individuals. Additionally, the Unemployment Insurance Scheme provided more than Dh512 million to those who lost their jobs from 2024 to mid-2026.

## Enhancing Worker Welfare

The ministry's initiatives aim to create a safe and sustainable labor market, ensuring workers' financial security and improving their quality of life. Dalal Alshehhi, Assistant Undersecretary for Labour Protection, emphasized the ministry's dedication to balancing worker and employer rights through partnerships with government and private sectors.

## Celebrations and Awareness

Around 800,000 workers participated in events across 60 locations, promoting social inclusion and wellbeing. MoHRE also advanced worker awareness programs, offering guidance in 17 languages, with over 1.3 million workers benefiting from these initiatives.

## Heat Stress Prevention and Accommodation

The Occupational Heat Stress Prevention Policy, effective from June 15 to September 15, includes plans for over 12,000 rest stations for delivery riders. Furthermore, MoHRE's Labour Accommodation System registered over 2,800 facilities, housing approximately two million workers under health and safety standards.
