## UAE's Cybersecurity Strategy
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) successfully intercepts approximately 600,000 cyberattacks each day, translating to about 416 attacks every second. This impressive feat is achieved through the country's advanced cybersecurity infrastructure, which ensures that these threats do not disrupt services or impact residents and businesses.
## Increasing Sophistication of Cyber Threats
Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, head of the UAE Cyber Security Council, highlights that cyber threats are becoming more sophisticated, often utilizing artificial intelligence to enhance their complexity and evade detection. The UAE's strategy focuses on proactive threat detection, robust digital infrastructure, and continuous investment in cutting-edge security technologies.
## Common and Emerging Threats
Among the prevalent threats are phishing, distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, ransomware, malware, and attempts to steal or erase sensitive data. Dr. Al Kuwaiti also warns of the growing risk from zero-day attacks, which exploit unknown software vulnerabilities, and threats targeting digital supply chains.
## Strengthening Cyber Resilience
The UAE Cybersecurity Council is committed to enhancing the nation's cyber resilience to protect the digital economy and critical infrastructure from evolving threats. This includes developing national talent and increasing public awareness of cybersecurity best practices.
