US military launches first-ever multinational attack drone task force

## Introduction of Task Force Falcon Strike

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced the creation of Task Force Falcon Strike, a pioneering multinational attack drone unit. This initiative aims to enhance deterrence in the Middle East by integrating unmanned systems across air, sea, and underwater domains.

## Building on Previous Success

This new task force follows the establishment of Task Force Scorpion Strike, which was the first US squadron in the region dedicated to one-way attack drones. Scorpion Strike achieved several milestones, including launching an aerial drone from a US Navy ship and conducting operations like Epic Fury.

## Regional Collaboration

Task Force Falcon Strike will involve military personnel from the US and regional allies, expanding drone capabilities into a cohesive multinational force. CENTCOM is actively engaging with regional partners to join this initiative, aiming to strengthen collective defense capabilities.

## Leadership and Operations

The task force will be led by staff from the US Special Operations Command Central (SOCCENT), based at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa. SOCCENT is responsible for special operations across 21 countries in the Middle East, Central Asia, and South Asia.

## Strategic Importance

Admiral Brad Cooper, CENTCOM commander, emphasized the importance of integrating new technologies with regional allies to enhance security and realize emerging possibilities. The initiative reflects the US military's commitment to maintaining strong partnerships in the region.
