## New Air Bridge Initiative

Dubai Humanitarian, under the guidance of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has launched an air bridge to deliver crucial medical supplies to Gaza. This initiative supports the World Health Organization's efforts to provide essential aid to the region.

## Initial Shipments

The first flight, carrying 11 metric tonnes of medicines, departed from Dubai Air Wing to Al Arish International Airport in Egypt. The supplies will then be transported to Gaza. Three more flights followed, delivering additional medicines, tents, and fortified biscuits to address urgent needs.

## Ongoing Efforts

Dubai Humanitarian plans to dispatch around 150 metric tonnes of WHO medical supplies to Gaza in the coming weeks. These efforts are part of a broader operation facilitated by the organization, which hosts the WHO Global Logistics Centre.

## Leadership and Support

Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, Chairman of Dubai Humanitarian, emphasized the organization's commitment to supporting Gaza, despite regional challenges. The air bridge is part of ongoing efforts to aid various countries, including Afghanistan and Lebanon.

## WHO's Role

Robert Blanchard from WHO highlighted the importance of these shipments, which include over $1.3 million worth of medical supplies. The collaboration with Dubai Humanitarian has significantly reduced logistics costs, allowing WHO to expand access to life-saving medicines.
