AD Ports adds trucks, ships and air cargo routes during Strait of Hormuz disruption

## AD Ports' Strategic Expansion

In response to disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, AD Ports Group has significantly expanded its logistics network across the UAE. During the second quarter of 2026, the company introduced additional sea, road, rail, and air cargo routes to ensure the continuous flow of goods, including essential items like food and pharmaceuticals.

## Enhanced Cargo Operations

AD Ports rerouted cargo operations through Fujairah Terminals and Khor Fakkan Port, adding 400 trucks and increasing rail service frequency with Etihad Rail. The company also launched new air cargo solutions, utilizing six chartered aircraft, and expanded its warehousing capacity by over 54,000 square meters.

## Financial Performance

Despite the challenges, AD Ports reported a record financial performance in Q2 2026. Revenue increased by 47% to Dh7.08 billion, while EBITDA rose by 49% to Dh1.74 billion. The net profit saw an 88% increase, reaching Dh836 million.

## International Expansion

AD Ports continued its global expansion by acquiring a Brazilian agri-bulk terminal operator for Dh3.1 billion and a German logistics company for Dh300 million. The company also increased its stake in Global Feeder Shipping to 81%.

## Impact on UAE Ports

The disruptions affected UAE port volumes, with container throughput dropping 65% and bulk cargo volumes falling 67%. However, AD Ports' strategic measures helped mitigate the impact on regional supply chains.
