When is the next solar eclipse? Two major events are coming in 2027

## February 6, 2027: Annular Solar Eclipse

The first significant solar event of 2027 will occur on February 6. This annular eclipse, often referred to as a "ring of fire," will be visible in parts of South America, particularly southern Chile and Argentina. During an annular eclipse, the Moon covers the center of the Sun, leaving a bright ring visible.

## August 2, 2027: Partial Solar Eclipse in the UAE

For residents of the UAE, August 2, 2027, marks a notable date. A partial solar eclipse will be visible, with approximately 53% of the Sun obscured in Dubai. This will be the first solar eclipse visible from the UAE since October 2022. While the UAE will not experience totality, the event will still offer a significant celestial display.

## Total Solar Eclipse Path

The total eclipse on August 2 will be one of the most remarkable of the century, with the path of totality crossing southern Spain, North Africa, and parts of the Middle East. Totality will last over six minutes at its peak, making it an exceptional opportunity for eclipse chasers.

## Future Eclipses

Looking ahead, the next total solar eclipse visible from the UAE is not expected until September 3, 2081. However, partial eclipses will occur, including one on June 1, 2030. Globally, other notable eclipses will take place in 2028 and 2030, crossing various continents.
