DIFC Courts draw parties from 22 overseas jurisdictions in first half of 2026

In the first half of 2026, the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Courts attracted parties from 22 different countries across five continents. This highlights Dubai's growing reputation as a global hub for resolving disputes.

## Opt-In Cases

Out of 810 cases filed, 243 were opt-in cases, representing 30% of the total. These cases were distributed across various divisions, with the Small Claims Tribunal handling the majority.

## International Involvement

The Court of First Instance saw 30 opt-in claims, nearly half of which involved at least one party from outside the UAE. Countries represented included Saudi Arabia, Oman, India, Germany, Switzerland, the United States, and Australia.

## Arbitration and Digital Economy

The Arbitration Division recorded 11 opt-in cases, with several linked to international arbitration hubs like Singapore and London. The Digital Economy Court also handled a case involving parties from the UK and other countries.
