## Tragic Helicopter Crash in Kenya

A helicopter crash in northern Kenya on Wednesday morning resulted in the deaths of seven individuals, including five Americans. The aircraft was on a tourist flight to Mount Ololokwe when it went down in Samburu County.

## Victims and Investigation

Among the deceased were José Suárez, a Telemundo executive, and Michele Sensi-Contugi, Ecuador's national intelligence director. The crash also claimed the life of Sensi-Contugi's wife, Stephany Hollihan, who held dual US and Ecuadorian citizenship. An investigation into the crash is currently underway.

## Response and Assistance

The US State Department confirmed the involvement of American citizens and is providing consular support. Local authorities, including the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority, are leading the investigation. The helicopter, a Eurocopter EC130 B4, was operated by Lady Lori Helicopters.

## Increasing Helicopter Accidents

This incident adds to a series of helicopter crashes in Kenya, a country heavily reliant on air travel for its tourism sector. Earlier this year, a similar crash claimed six lives, including a local legislator.
