Dubai Maritime City sets single-day record with 52 vessels

## Record-Breaking Day for Dubai Maritime City

Dubai Maritime City set a new record by handling 52 vessels in a single day on July 28, 2026. This milestone reflects a growing demand for ship maintenance services, driven by increased oil and gas production in the region.

## Surge in Dry Berth Occupancy

The occupancy of dry berths, where ships undergo inspection and repairs, rose by 22% in July compared to the previous year. The total number of vessels serviced during the month increased by 7%, from 188 last year to 202 this year.

## Diverse Vessel Demand

Offshore support vessels, particularly those up to 150 meters, contributed significantly to the rise in demand. The yacht and leisure-boat sector also saw a sharp increase, with dry-berth occupancy for this segment climbing 88% year on year.

## Expansion and Automation

Dubai Maritime City is expanding its capacity by acquiring over 500 vessel-support cradles, enabling it to accommodate up to 60 small boats. The facility is also enhancing automation, with vehicle gates and safety systems being digitized to improve efficiency and safety.

## Strategic Investments

Abdulla Al Hashmi of DP World GCC highlighted that the rising demand underscores the expansion of the region's maritime industries. Investments in infrastructure aim to bolster Dubai's status as a key maritime hub, supporting industry, trade, and logistics.
