## Asset and Premium Growth
In 2025, the UAE insurance industry experienced a notable increase in total assets, reaching Dh164.9 billion, a 6.1% rise from the previous year. This growth was driven by a 14.9% surge in gross written premiums, which amounted to Dh74.8 billion, up from Dh65.1 billion in 2024.
## Profit and Claims Increase
The sector's profits saw a substantial jump of 54%, totaling Dh4 billion compared to Dh2.6 billion the year before. Meanwhile, total claims paid by insurers rose by 11% to Dh46.2 billion. Despite the increase in claims, premium income grew at a faster rate, contributing to the overall financial health of the industry.
## Investment and Capital Strength
The insurance sector maintained a strong investment portfolio, with invested assets at Dh96.4 billion, representing 58.4% of total assets. The industry's capital position was robust, with available capital at 455% of the minimum required level, ensuring stability and compliance with regulatory standards.
## Expansion of Policies
The number of active insurance policies reached 17.3 million, with health insurance policies notably increasing by 26.1% due to mandatory health coverage. This expansion reflects a growing demand for insurance products across the UAE, supported by the implementation of compulsory health insurance schemes.
## Industry Composition
By the end of 2025, the UAE insurance market comprised 58 companies and 515 insurance-related professions. The sector's growth was marked by an increase in both asset base and policy numbers, alongside a significant rise in health insurance coverage, which broadened the customer base beyond existing premium values.
