Dubai Weddings initiative expands support for Emirati families

## Comprehensive Support for Emirati Couples

The Dubai Weddings initiative, launched in early 2024, has expanded its scope to provide comprehensive support for young Emirati families both before and after marriage. Initially focused on organizing wedding celebrations, the program now includes marriage preparation, financial and housing guidance, and family counseling. This expansion is part of the Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Family Programme, under the guidance of Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum.

## Growing Impact

As of August 2026, the initiative has helped establish 1,411 families and facilitated 2,898 weddings. It has also supported the birth of 418 newborns. The program's "Start It Right" sessions have reached 2,591 individuals, offering insights into marriage and family life. Financial planning courses have benefited 677 participants, and 251 people have attended workshops on building a home.

## High Satisfaction and Recognition

The initiative has achieved a 99.3% satisfaction rate among participants and has been recognized with five local and international awards for its social impact. Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director General of the Community Development Authority (CDA), emphasized the program's role in creating a supportive environment for young Emiratis to build stable families.

## Accessible Services

To simplify access, the DubaiNow app allows Emiratis to apply for and track services related to marriage preparation, counseling, housing, and financial support. The initiative also offers wedding venues in Al Barsha, Al Twar, Al Lisaili, and Hatta, supported by 27 additional initiatives. Dr. Ahmed Al Hashemi, CEO of the Social Regulation and Services Sector at the CDA, highlighted the digital service's role in streamlining the process for applicants.
