## A Special Century Celebration
Indian cricketer Dhruv Jurel celebrated his second Test century against Sri Lanka in a unique way that carried deep personal significance. After reaching his century on Day 2, Jurel turned towards the Indian dressing room, flexed his bicep, and pointed to his tattoo, which reads "Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan."
## The Meaning Behind the Tattoo
The phrase "Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan," meaning "Hail the soldiers, hail the farmers," was originally coined by former Indian Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri in 1965. For Jurel, these words are a tribute to his family heritage. His grandfather was a farmer, and his father served as a soldier, making the tattoo a personal homage to both.
## Paying Tribute to Family
In a post-match press conference, Jurel explained that the tattoo serves as a reminder of his roots. By showcasing it after his century, he honored his grandfather and father, symbolizing the "Kisan" and "Jawan" respectively. This act of celebration was not just about the milestone but also about acknowledging the influences that shaped his journey.
## A Tradition of Family Honors
This isn't the first time Jurel has used his cricketing achievements to honor his family. Previously, he has performed an army salute to pay respect to his father. This latest celebration was a continuation of his tradition of family tributes, marking another memorable moment in his cricketing career.
