Jharkhand exam irregularities: Over 100 candidates questioned as CID-SIT expands probe

## Investigation Overview

The investigation into alleged exam irregularities in Jharkhand is expanding as the CID-Special Investigation Team (SIT) has questioned over 100 candidates. These inquiries are part of a broader probe into the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) exams.

## Key Accused and Allegations

The investigation has focused on Abhay Tiwari, a former Block Supply Officer, who is believed to have played a central role in the scam. Tiwari, who previously worked with an outsourcing agency for exams, is accused of facilitating candidate selection through illicit means. Allegations suggest that candidates paid significant sums, ranging from Rs500,000 to Rs6 million, to secure positions in various government roles.

## Methodology and Arrests

The probe has uncovered potential use of software and remote access to assist candidates during exams. Tiwari's brother and wife have also been arrested, with investigators examining their involvement in financial transactions related to the scam. The investigation is also looking into the roles of former JPSC officials, including the ex-chairman and other employees.

## Ongoing Investigation

The CID-SIT continues to analyze electronic evidence and financial records to unravel the extent of the network involved in these irregularities. There are calls from opposition parties and student groups for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to take over the case, but the CID-SIT remains in charge for now.
