Emirates now accepts cryptocurrency for flight bookings in UAE: Here's how it works

## New Payment Option Emirates has launched a new payment option allowing customers in the UAE to book flights using cryptocurrency through Crypto.com Pay. This service is available on the airline's website and mobile app for those with a Crypto.com account.

## How It Works Customers can select Crypto.com Pay at checkout. On the Emirates App, users are redirected to the Crypto.com app to approve the payment from their wallet. On the website, a QR code is scanned using the Crypto.com app to complete the transaction. Once payment is confirmed, the booking confirmation and e-ticket are issued.

## Strategic Partnership This initiative follows a memorandum of understanding signed between Emirates and Crypto.com in July 2025. The collaboration aims to integrate digital payment solutions into Emirates' systems, reflecting the UAE's ambition to lead in fintech and digital economy.

## Supporting Dubai's Cashless Strategy The launch aligns with the Dubai Cashless Strategy under the D33 Economic Agenda, targeting 90% digital transactions by 2026. It also builds on Emirates' partnership with Dubai Finance to enhance digital payments.

## Industry Impact Adnan Kazim, Emirates' Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, emphasized the flexibility this offers to customers, particularly appealing to a younger, tech-savvy demographic. Eric Anziani, President of Crypto.com, highlighted the collaboration as a significant milestone in digital payments.
