## Taraweeh Prayer Guidance
The UAE Fatwa Council has issued guidance on the Taraweeh prayers during Ramadan, emphasizing its spiritual significance and recommending regular observance. Taraweeh is a voluntary prayer that offers great spiritual rewards, and the Council encourages Muslims to participate throughout the holy month.
## Number of Rak’ahs
According to the Council, the Prophet Muhammad traditionally performed 11 rak’ahs, including the Witr prayer, as narrated by his wife Aisha. However, mosques in the UAE typically conduct eight rak’ahs followed by the Shaf’ and Witr prayers. This shorter format is designed to accommodate worshippers' varying circumstances.
## Encouragement for Congregational Prayer
The Council advises worshippers to stay with the imam until the final rak’ah to gain the reward of praying the entire night. This practice is encouraged to enhance the communal aspect of the prayer and maximize spiritual benefits.
