₱500K in real time, automatic bills, easier cash-ins: 3 new Philippine payment services explained

## New Payment Services Launched

The Philippines has introduced three new digital payment services aimed at enhancing the ease of financial transactions for both consumers and businesses. These services, launched by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and Philippine Payments Management Inc. (PPMI), include Direct Debit PH, InstaPay Cash-In, and InstaPay for Business.

## InstaPay Cash-In

InstaPay Cash-In allows users to transfer funds between their own bank accounts and e-wallets without leaving the app. This "me-to-me" service simplifies cash-ins for individuals with multiple accounts. Participating institutions include major banks and e-wallets like BPI, GCash, and UnionBank.

## InstaPay for Business

Targeting businesses, InstaPay for Business enables real-time transfers up to ₱500,000, significantly increasing the previous limit. This service is designed for various corporate payments, including payroll and supplier transactions. Initial participants include PNB and RCBC.

## Direct Debit PH

Direct Debit PH automates recurring payments, allowing billers to collect funds directly from customers' accounts on scheduled dates. This service aims to streamline bill payments for utilities, loans, and subscriptions, reducing manual processes for both consumers and businesses.

## QR Payment System Update

Additionally, the BSP clarified the QR payment system. QR Ph is designated for person-to-merchant transactions, while InstaPay QR is for person-to-person transfers, each with specific fee structures.

These initiatives are part of a broader effort to create a more interconnected and efficient digital payment ecosystem in the Philippines.
