The climbers, identified as Pur Bahadur Gurung from Nepal, Nathira Ahmed from Oman, and Mallory Geis from the USA, were part of an international expedition. Their bodies have been transported to a hospital for further procedures.

## Challenging Conditions

The search operation has faced significant delays due to adverse weather, which has restricted helicopter access. Despite these challenges, rescue teams, supported by army helicopters, continue their efforts. The search is set to resume after a temporary halt due to the weather.

## International Team Impacted

The climbing group included participants from various countries, including Nepal, Oman, the USA, Pakistan, China, and others. Chinese authorities are currently verifying if any of their nationals are among the missing. The Chinese government has expressed readiness to assist in the ongoing rescue operations.

## Broad Peak's Treacherous Terrain

Broad Peak, located in Pakistan's Karakoram range, stands at 8,047 meters and is the 12th-highest mountain globally. Known for its harsh conditions, the mountain frequently experiences avalanches and sudden weather changes, posing significant risks to climbers.

## Expedition Leadership

The expedition was led by Nirmal Purja, a renowned mountaineer from Nepal, famous for climbing the world's 14 highest peaks in a record time. The team was organized by Moving Mountains, a travel company based in Pakistan. For Mallory Geis, this was her first attempt at an 8,000-meter peak in Pakistan, having previously climbed in Nepal.
