Starting August 1, 2026, overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) departing from Manila's Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) can use a digital Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) Pass instead of a printed Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC). This new system is available on 24 international airlines, aiming to streamline the departure process for OFWs.

## How the Digital OFW Pass Works

The digital pass, accessible via the eGovPH mobile app, features a QR code that airline staff can scan to verify employment clearance through the Department of Migrant Workers' (DMW) e-verify system. This initiative is part of the Philippines' broader effort to digitalize services for its overseas workforce.

## Participating Airlines

The digital OFW Pass is accepted by major airlines such as Philippine Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Qatar Airways, Etihad Airways, and Singapore Airlines, among others. This includes carriers frequently used by OFWs traveling to the Middle East.

The transition to a digital system is expected to reduce paperwork and make the check-in process more efficient.
