## Incident Overview

A gas cylinder explosion occurred at a car showroom off Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai, resulting in one fatality and five injuries. The blast took place on Monday, and emergency services quickly responded to control the fire and assist the injured.

## Victim Identification

The first victim identified was Nkeng Boris, a 30-year-old Cameroonian expatriate and auto mechanic. The Consulate General of Cameroon confirmed his identity, noting that Boris had been living in the UAE since 2019. He was identified by a friend, as he had no family in the UAE.

## Family's Concerns

Boris's brother, Nkeng Lionel, had expressed concerns about his sibling's safety after hearing about the explosion. He reached out to Gulf News for information, as the family had been unable to contact Boris.

## Second Victim

The explosion also claimed the life of Shijin Paul, a 27-year-old Indian expatriate from Kerala. Shijin, who worked as a multimedia marketing specialist at the showroom, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. His family is awaiting the completion of legal formalities for repatriation.

## Ongoing Support

Both the Cameroonian and Indian consulates are providing assistance to the victims' families and friends, coordinating with local authorities to manage the necessary procedures following the tragedy.
