## New Admission Age Rules

Starting in the 2026-27 academic year, Dubai private schools will implement updated age requirements for new students, as per the Ministry of Education's guidelines. For September-start schools, children must reach the required age by December 31, while for April-start schools, the cut-off is March 31. A special exception applies for children born between September 1 and December 31, 2022, allowing placement based on developmental readiness.

## Fixed Academic Calendar

The Ministry of Education has introduced a unified academic calendar for the next three years, covering 2026-27 to 2028-29. This aims to provide families with consistent holiday planning. Most schools will have a mid-term break from October 12 to 18, 2026, and a winter break from December 14, 2026, to January 3, 2027. However, some schools, particularly in Sharjah and those following alternative curricula, may have different schedules.

## New Inspection Model

Dubai's private schools will experience a revised inspection process. The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) will implement a two-tier system: comprehensive inspections or shorter visits focusing on specific areas. Schools in their third year of operation will automatically undergo a full inspection.

## Tuition Fee Freeze

For the 2026-27 academic year, there will be no increase in private school fees in Dubai. This decision, announced by KHDA, aims to ease the financial burden on families while ensuring stability in the education sector.
