## Incident Overview
A near collision between two aircraft at Sydney Airport has prompted an investigation by safety regulators. The incident occurred when a Jetstar Airbus A320, preparing for a flight to the Gold Coast, had to brake suddenly to avoid a Qatar Airways Boeing 777 being towed across a taxiway.
## Injuries and Damage
The abrupt stop resulted in a crew member on the Jetstar flight sustaining injuries. Additionally, there was damage to the connection between the Boeing 777's nose gear and the towing tug.
## Investigation Details
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) is gathering data from the aircraft, air traffic control, and interviewing involved personnel to understand the cause of the incident. They are also seeking any video evidence from witnesses at the airport.
## Operational Impact
Following the incident, flights at Sydney Airport have experienced delays. Jetstar confirmed their aircraft was following air traffic control instructions when the need to brake arose. Qatar Airways has not yet commented on the situation.
## Preliminary Findings
Initial information suggests the tug towing the Qatar Airways plane may not have adhered to air traffic control directives, though this is still under investigation.
