## Typhoon Dolphin Approaches

China's eastern coast is bracing for Typhoon Dolphin, prompting the cancellation of over 1,000 flights. Authorities have issued a red alert, the highest warning level, as the storm nears.

## Flight Disruptions

Nearly 1,400 flights at Shanghai's main airports were canceled on Sunday. Hangzhou's airport in Zhejiang province also saw 270 flights canceled. The typhoon is expected to make landfall late Sunday or early Monday in Zhejiang or Fujian.

## Impact in Japan and Taiwan

In Japan's Okinawa, the typhoon caused minor injuries to seven people and left over 5,000 households without power. In Taiwan, the storm led to the suspension of dozens of ferry services and the cancellation of more than 180 flights.

## Preparations in China

China's National Meteorological Centre forecasts heavy rain in Zhejiang, Shanghai, and other provinces. Nearly 99,000 people in Fujian have been evacuated from high-risk areas. Ferry services and some train operations have been suspended to ensure safety.

## Recent Typhoon Activity

Typhoon Dolphin's arrival follows Typhoon Noul, which hit southern China two weeks ago, causing significant damage and fatalities in the Philippines before reaching China.
