Dubai bridge cuts Al Qudra intersection wait by 85%

## Al Qudra Bridge Opens

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has inaugurated a new four-lane bridge at the Al Qudra Road and Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street intersection. This 700-meter bridge is expected to ease congestion significantly, reducing travel time from 9.4 minutes to just 2.8 minutes.

## Increased Traffic Capacity

The bridge can handle up to 6,000 vehicles per hour, boosting the intersection's capacity from 7,800 to 19,400 vehicles per hour. This development is part of a larger project aimed at improving traffic flow and reducing waiting times by 85%, from nearly seven minutes to just one minute.

## Future Developments

Additional ramp bridges are planned for completion by late 2026. These will facilitate uninterrupted traffic movement in all directions, enhancing connectivity across Dubai's road network.

## Strategic Road Improvements

The Al Qudra Road Development Project is part of a broader initiative to upgrade key transport corridors in Dubai. It includes the construction of bridges totaling 4,000 meters and the expansion of an 11.6-kilometer section of Al Qudra Road. This will benefit over 400,000 residents and visitors by easing congestion and improving road safety.

## Supporting Growth

The project supports the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, aiming to accommodate growing traffic demands and support residential and economic development in the area. Further enhancements, including a new 4.8-kilometer road, are underway to improve access to surrounding communities.
