Indian expat in Dubai, brother of NEET-linked suicide victim from Kerala, found dead in Mangaluru

## Tragic Loss for Kerala Family

A 24-year-old Indian expatriate from Dubai, Arjun R Mahesh, was discovered deceased in a Mangaluru hotel room on Monday. This incident follows the suicide of his younger sister, Ayja R Mahesh, in June. Ayja, 19, had taken her life while preparing for a re-examination of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) after the original exam was canceled due to a leak.

## Emotional Distress

Arjun, an automobile engineer, left a note apologizing to his mother, indicating he was struggling with his sister's death. Mangaluru City Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death, suspecting severe emotional distress.

## Family's Ordeal

Ayja had been confident about her performance in the original NEET exam but became distressed after its cancellation. She returned to her hostel to focus on her studies for the re-exam, scheduled for June 21, but was found hanging in her room on June 2.

## Arjun's Final Days

After Ayja's death, Arjun returned to Kerala before going back to Dubai for work. He informed friends on Sunday that he was traveling home but did not tell his family he was back in India. His family and friends attempted to contact him, but his phone was off. They sought police assistance to locate him, leading to the discovery of his body the next day.
