When will summer end in the UAE? Here is the official date

## Transition to Cooler Weather

The UAE is currently in the final phase of its peak summer season, known as Al Qayz, which began on August 11 with the rising of the Al Kulaybin star. This period, called Marakhiyat Al Qalaid, signals the start of a gradual shift towards cooler temperatures.

## Suhail Star's Significance

A significant marker in this transition is the appearance of the Suhail star, or Canopus, expected on August 24. Traditionally, this star's visibility heralds the retreat of the intense summer heat across the Arabian Peninsula. It is associated with cooler nights and changes in humidity.

## Weather Forecast

Despite the transition, high temperatures persist, with forecasts predicting up to 48°C in some areas. However, a gradual decline in temperatures is expected, especially along the coast. Winds may reach speeds of 40 km/h, potentially causing dust storms.

## Seasonal Changes Ahead

The astronomical summer will officially end with the autumnal equinox on September 23. Approximately 45 days after Suhail's appearance, day and night lengths will become nearly equal, marking the onset of autumnal conditions. Winter traditionally begins about 100 days after Suhail's appearance.
