Dubai parking fees could rise after Parkin submits tariff hike request

## Potential Increase in Parking Fees

Dubai's public parking fees might soon rise as Parkin has submitted a proposal to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to revise tariffs. This change could impact thousands of commuters in both commercial and residential areas.

## Proposal Details

The proposal suggests adjustments to the weighted average parking tariff and changes to seasonal card pricing. These changes aim to address pricing gaps that have emerged since the introduction of variable tariffs last year. The RTA will review the proposal before seeking final approval from Dubai’s Executive Council.

## Seasonal Cards Under Review

The popularity of seasonal cards has increased significantly, with sales rising 140% in the last quarter of 2025. This surge is attributed to a pricing gap that emerged after daily tariffs were increased in April 2025. The proposed changes aim to reduce this price disparity while maintaining long-term value for customers.

## Financial Performance and Expansion

Parkin reported strong financial results for 2025, with a 47% increase in fourth-quarter revenue to Dh389.4 million and a 53% rise in net profit to Dh183.6 million. The company expanded its parking capacity by 11% to approximately 229,000 spaces. Smart technology has also enhanced enforcement, with over 17 million license plates scanned in the last quarter.

## Next Steps

The decision on the tariff adjustments will depend on regulatory approval following the RTA's review. The management's guidance for 2026 does not currently account for potential impacts from these proposed changes.
