The Ruler of Sharjah, His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, has sanctioned a new organisational framework for the Sharjah International Airport Authority. This decree outlines the general structure and sets the stage for further detailed decisions.

The Sharjah Executive Council is tasked with implementing the decree, which includes defining job roles and responsibilities within the Authority. They also have the power to modify organisational units as needed.

## Recent Passenger Traffic

Recently, Sharjah International Airport experienced a surge in passenger numbers, handling over 390,000 travelers in one week during the peak summer period. This included more than 175,000 arrivals and 151,000 departures, with over 66,000 transit passengers.

## Flight Operations

During the same week, the airport managed 2,350 flights, serving over 100 international destinations. August 15 marked the busiest day, with nearly 49,000 passengers arriving and departing.
