UAE expresses solidarity with Algeria after deadly wildfires

## UAE's Support for Algeria

The United Arab Emirates has extended its condolences and support to Algeria following a series of destructive wildfires in the northeastern region. These fires have tragically resulted in the loss of 12 lives and left many injured.

## Wildfires in Algeria

Algerian authorities are currently managing 64 active wildfires across 10 provinces. The General Directorate of Civil Protection reported that emergency teams have successfully extinguished 110 out of 174 fires that erupted in the past 24 hours. However, significant challenges remain, particularly in Jijel, which is the hardest hit with 20 ongoing fires.

## Affected Regions

Other affected areas include Skikda with 14 active fires, El Tarf near the Tunisian border with 10, Guelma with six, Annaba with five, and Bejaia with four. The situation remains critical as emergency services continue their efforts to control the blazes.

## UAE's Message of Sympathy

In a statement, the UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and wished for the swift recovery of those injured. The UAE stands in solidarity with Algeria during this challenging time, offering support and sympathy to the nation and its people.
