Ronaldo answers substitution drama with goal No. 978 but was it already going in?

## Ronaldo's Redemption

Cristiano Ronaldo responded to recent substitution frustrations by scoring a decisive goal for Al Nassr in their 2-1 victory over Al Taawoun in the Saudi Pro League. This win maintained Al Nassr's perfect start to the season.

## Match Highlights

Ronaldo, who was unhappy after being substituted in a previous match against Al Ettifaq, stayed on the pitch this time and made a significant impact. Al Nassr had to recover from an early setback when Mohammed Bassam Al Hurayji scored for Al Taawoun in the 11th minute. Samú Costa equalized just before halftime, setting the stage for Ronaldo's crucial goal shortly after the break.

## The Controversial Goal

The winning goal came after Joao Felix's impressive play down the left flank. His pass reached Mohamed Simakan, whose shot seemed destined for the net. However, Ronaldo intervened with a flick from close range, securing the goal and bringing his career tally to 978.

## Social Media Buzz

The goal sparked debate online, with many suggesting Simakan's shot might have gone in without Ronaldo's touch. Despite this, the goal was credited to Ronaldo, marking an important moment for both him and the team.

## Celebration and Team Performance

During the celebration, Ronaldo initially refrained from his trademark "Siu" but was reminded by teammate Sadio Mané, prompting him to perform it for the fans. Under coach Ange Postecoglou, Al Nassr has won all four of their league matches, with Ronaldo now just 22 goals away from reaching 1,000 career goals.
