## Traffic Surge Expected

As 1.27 million students return to classrooms across the UAE, roads are expected to experience significant congestion. Families are back from summer vacations, and offices are resuming normal operations, contributing to increased traffic.

## Impact on Commuters

Commuters are already noticing longer travel times. For instance, Stalin Meledath Mohanan from Sharjah reports his morning commute to Jumeirah now takes longer, prompting him to leave earlier to avoid delays.

## Expert Advice

Thomas Edelmann, a road safety expert, advises parents to set a good example by leaving home earlier to avoid stress. He also suggests that subsidizing school buses could reduce the number of cars on the road.

## Adjusting Schedules

Some professionals, like entrepreneur Shahina Shabeer, are adjusting their schedules to avoid peak traffic. She plans meetings in Sharjah during the morning and in Dubai after noon to navigate around school-hour congestion.

## Family and Work Balance

For parents like Rouba Al Alam, the school season means earlier mornings to manage both family and work commitments. She leaves home early to avoid the school-bus rush and plans her return to miss evening peak hours.

## Coping Strategies

Edelmann recommends commuters remain calm and consider flexible work arrangements to ease road pressure. Checking live traffic updates can also help in planning routes to avoid jams.
