Sharjah-Dubai traffic alert: Heavy rush-hour delays as schools reopen

## Increased Traffic on Key Roads

As schools across the UAE reopen after the summer break, significant traffic congestion is reported on major routes between Sharjah and Dubai. Commuters are experiencing delays, particularly on Al Ittihad Road (E11) and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road (E311).

## Areas Affected

Traffic is notably heavy around the Sharjah-Dubai border, Al Nahda, Al Taawun, and near the Sahara Centre. The congestion extends to the Industrial Area and the Muhaisnah-Al Qusais corridor. Meanwhile, Emirates Road (E611) is less congested, providing an alternative route.

## School Traffic Impact

With over 1.27 million students returning to more than 1,180 schools, the increase in school-related traffic is adding pressure to the roads. Areas around Mleiha Street, Maleha Road, and Muwaileh are also experiencing congestion due to school buses and parents.

## Police Measures

Dubai and Sharjah police have increased patrols around schools and implemented traffic plans to manage the situation. Motorists are advised to start their journeys earlier, monitor live traffic updates, and drive cautiously, especially near schools and busy interchanges.
