Elon Musk confirms Starlink is now officially live in the UAE

## Starlink Launches in UAE

SpaceX's satellite internet service, Starlink, is now operational in the United Arab Emirates. The service went live after receiving regulatory approval and moving from pre-orders to full service.

## Regulatory Approval and Launch

The UAE's Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority granted Starlink a 10-year General Space Services License on August 28. This license allows Starlink to operate a public satellite communications network and offer broadband internet services in the country.

## Service Details and Pricing

Starlink's residential internet service in the UAE is priced at Dh300 per month, offering unlimited data and a 30-day trial. The necessary hardware, including a Router 3 with Wi-Fi 6, starts at Dh1,465. A Dh300 deposit is required at checkout, which is deducted from the cost of the Starlink Kit. The service promises speeds of up to 400+ Mbps.

## Broader Connectivity Options

Beyond residential use, the license permits Starlink to provide connectivity to businesses, government entities, maritime vessels, and aircraft. This positions Starlink as an alternative to traditional fixed-line and mobile broadband networks.

## High Demand and Shipping Delays

Due to high demand and regional logistics challenges, Starlink has warned of potential shipping delays. Customers will receive delivery timelines as they become available.
