## UAE's Right of Reply
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has formally denied allegations made by parties involved in the Sudan conflict during a session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva. On February 26, 2026, Khalifa Al Mazrouei, a counselor at the UAE Permanent Mission, addressed the council, refuting claims directed at the UAE by one of the Sudanese conflict parties.
## Allegations and UAE's Response
The UAE was accused of various unfounded actions by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF). Al Mazrouei criticized the SAF for diverting attention from their responsibility to protect civilians and for alleged war crimes. He highlighted that the SAF has been involved in systematic attacks on civilian infrastructure and has used chemical weapons, according to credible reports.
## Human Rights Violations
Al Mazrouei expressed concern over reports of sexual violence and other human rights violations by the SAF, particularly targeting medical personnel and humanitarian workers. He emphasized that the UAE condemns all violations during the conflict and criticized the accusing party for its silence on these issues.
## Accountability and Credibility Issues
The UAE representative pointed out the lack of accountability within the SAF and their refusal to cooperate with international investigations. He argued that the party accusing the UAE has lost credibility due to its actions, including obstructing humanitarian aid and blocking peace initiatives.
