UAE investment boom: FDI hits record as AIM Congress returns to Dubai

## Record FDI Inflows

The UAE is experiencing a significant surge in foreign direct investment (FDI), reaching Dh177.3 billion in 2025. This achievement places the country ninth globally for FDI inflows, according to the UN Conference on Trade and Development. The UAE has maintained a record-breaking streak for four consecutive years, with its cumulative FDI stock hitting Dh1.171 trillion by the end of 2025.

## AIM Congress 2026

The 15th edition of the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) Congress is set to take place from September 7 to 9 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The event will gather global investors, policymakers, and financial institutions to discuss future capital flows. The agenda includes forums, roundtables, exhibitions, workshops, and networking sessions.

## Greenfield Investments and Non-Oil Trade

The UAE has also secured its position as the second-largest destination for new greenfield FDI projects for the third year in a row, attracting 1,562 projects. These projects represent 38% of greenfield project capital expenditure in the Middle East. Additionally, the UAE's non-oil foreign trade reached Dh1.937 trillion in the first half of 2026, marking a 13.1% increase from the previous year.

## Focus on Sustainable Growth

This year's AIM Congress will focus on "Reshaping Global Prosperity: Unlocking New Investment Pathways Towards a Sustainable and Inclusive Future." Discussions will revolve around global markets, future economies, and next-generation investment opportunities. The event aims to connect capital allocators, policymakers, and innovators to foster sustainable economic growth.
