## UAE's Memorable Victory
The UAE women's cricket team, led by captain Esha Oza, delivered a standout performance at the Women's Asia Cup Rising Stars tournament in Bangkok. Their campaign began with a stunning seven-wicket victory over India A, a team featuring several Indian internationals and Women Premier League stars. Oza's composed 72 not out was pivotal in securing this unexpected win.
## Consistent Performances
Following their initial triumph, the UAE continued to impress by defeating Nepal by 18 runs, with Oza scoring a remarkable 125 off 63 balls. However, their journey to the final was halted after a nine-wicket loss to Pakistan, which affected their net run rate. Despite finishing with the same points as India and Pakistan, the UAE ended third in the standings.
## Reflecting on the Tournament
Although disappointed not to reach the final, Oza expressed pride in the team's achievements. She acknowledged areas for improvement, particularly in fielding and consistency, but remained optimistic about the future. Oza emphasized the need for more match exposure to elevate the team's standards, citing the benefits seen in the men's team from competitive leagues like the ILT20.
## Looking Ahead
The UAE women's team is now focusing on the ACC Premier Cup, a qualifying event for the upcoming Women's Asia Cup. Oza is determined to build on the positives from the tournament and address the areas needing improvement, aiming for stronger performances in future competitions.
