## Rising Billionaires
A new wave of billionaires under 30 is emerging, largely driven by artificial intelligence startups, pharmaceuticals, and inherited wealth. According to Forbes, 35 individuals under 30 have amassed a combined fortune of $92.4 billion as of March 2026, with 12 of them being self-made.
## AI and Tech Disruptors
The AI sector has been a significant contributor to this trend. Surya Midha, Brendan Foody, and Adarsh Hiremath, all aged 22, co-founded Mercor, an AI recruiting firm. Each holds an estimated $2.2 billion fortune. Alexandr Wang, 29, also made his mark in AI with Scale AI, which was partly acquired by Meta, boosting his wealth.
## Inherited Wealth
Luca and Clemente Del Vecchio, heirs to the Luxottica eyewear empire, each hold $6.8 billion. The von Baumbach siblings, inheritors of the Boehringer Ingelheim pharmaceutical fortune, each possess $6.6 billion. Kevin David Lehmann, at 23, became a billionaire through Germany's dm-drogerie markt.
## Diverse Backgrounds
Other notable young billionaires include Firoz and Zahan Mistry, heirs to the Tata empire, and Alexandra Andresen, who inherited wealth from the Ferd investment company. Remi Dassault, part of France's Dassault dynasty, also features on the list.
## Wealth Sources
The list highlights a divide between inherited wealth and fortunes made through new technologies, particularly AI. While many young billionaires come from established family businesses, the self-made billionaires are predominantly from the tech sector.
