## Incident in Tanta Court
An Egyptian woman has been sentenced to a month in prison for assaulting her husband inside the Tanta Courts Complex. The altercation, which was captured on video and widely shared on social media, occurred amidst ongoing marital and legal disputes between the couple.
## Background of the Dispute
The couple, married since 2003 and parents to three children, have been embroiled in serious disagreements for the past three years. The husband moved to Cairo in September 2022 due to work, leaving the marital home. Legal battles ensued, including cases related to divorce, child expenses, and marital property.
## Courtroom Confrontation
The husband was at the court on April 8 for a case concerning a trust receipt. He claims his wife confronted him, attempting to prevent his attendance and then physically attacked him. Witnesses recorded the incident, leading to both parties being taken to a police station.
## Trust Receipt Dispute
A significant aspect of their legal conflict involves a disputed trust receipt. The husband admitted to signing a 10,000 Egyptian pound receipt but contested a second one for 15,000 pounds, alleging forgery. Handwriting experts supported his claim, stating the second receipt was not in his handwriting.
## Legal Outcome
Despite the wife's denial of the assault charges, insisting her husband was the aggressor, the court found her guilty, resulting in a one-month jail sentence. The case highlights the couple's prolonged legal and personal conflicts.
