Nepal Consul General thanks UAE: How to donate to flood relief

## Nepal Flood Disaster

On August 26, 2026, a catastrophic flash flood struck northern Nepal, affecting over 350,000 people. The disaster was triggered by an avalanche that blocked a tributary near the Nepal-Tibet border. When the blockage broke, a massive surge of water devastated the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli river valleys, destroying infrastructure and causing significant loss of life.

## UAE's Swift Response

In response to the disaster, the UAE government promptly announced $10 million in aid. This was followed by a rescue mission and the dispatch of 83 tonnes of relief supplies. The UAE's actions were coordinated with local authorities to ensure aid reached those in need.

## Consul General's Appeal

Hari Prasad Odari, Nepal's Consul General in Dubai, praised the UAE's immediate support and highlighted the generosity of UAE residents. He encouraged financial contributions to the relief effort, directing donations to specific bank accounts set up for this purpose.

## How to Contribute

Donations can be made to the Consulate General of Nepal in Dubai's account at Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank. The consulate is also available for contact via WhatsApp, phone, or email for further information on how to assist.
