## Iran's Stance on Nuclear Negotiations
Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has urged the United States to reconsider its "excessive demands" to facilitate progress in nuclear deal discussions. This statement followed recent talks held in Geneva between the two nations.
Araghchi emphasized the need for "seriousness and realism" from the US, cautioning against miscalculations. Although he did not specify which demands were considered excessive, the US has previously highlighted Iran's ballistic missile program and uranium enrichment as major concerns.
## US Concerns and Reactions
US President Donald Trump has expressed worries about Iran's missile capabilities, suggesting they pose a threat to Europe and US bases. Secretary of State Marco Rubio noted that while Iran is not currently enriching uranium, it aims to reach that capability, and its refusal to discuss its missile program remains a significant issue.
## Recent Developments in Talks
The Geneva talks marked the third round of negotiations mediated by Oman, aiming to prevent military escalation as the US increases its military presence in the Middle East. Both Iran and Oman reported progress, with technical discussions planned in Vienna.
Araghchi mentioned that the talks have seriously addressed both nuclear and sanctions issues, with further discussions expected soon. Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi confirmed that technical talks are scheduled for the following week in Vienna.
