## Increased Patrols in Residential Areas
Dubai Police have intensified their efforts to curb unsafe motorbike riding by teenagers, particularly after iftar during Ramadan. This initiative comes in response to a growing trend of young riders using motorbikes and recreational bikes in residential neighborhoods, posing significant safety risks.
## Safety Concerns Highlighted
Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations Affairs, emphasized the dangers associated with this behavior. He noted that teenagers often lack awareness of safety rules, increasing the likelihood of accidents involving vehicles or pedestrians, especially in areas with children and elderly residents.
## Enforcement Measures
To address these concerns, traffic patrols have been increased, leading to several recent interventions. Offenders have been stopped, their bikes impounded, and reports filed. Guardians of these teenagers have been summoned, and legal actions have been taken to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
## Community Involvement Encouraged
Al Mazrouei urged parents to prevent their children from riding motorbikes on public roads and within residential areas. He also called for community cooperation to reduce unsafe practices and enhance safety. Residents can report such activities through the "We Are All Police" service or the "Police Eye" feature on the Dubai Police app.
## Importance of Parental Guidance
The police stressed that prevention starts at home, with parents playing a crucial role in supervising and guiding their children to protect both the youth and the wider community.
