## New Bridge Opens in Dubai
Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has unveiled a new bridge that significantly reduces travel time at the World Trade Centre Roundabout. The bridge connects Sheikh Zayed Road to Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street, cutting the journey from six minutes to just one minute.
## Bridge Details
The newly opened bridge spans 1,000 meters and features two lanes, accommodating up to 3,000 vehicles per hour. It facilitates smoother traffic flow towards Al Karama and Deira, two of Dubai's busiest areas. This bridge is part of the larger World Trade Centre Roundabout Development Project, which includes five bridges in total.
## Project Significance
Mattar Al Tayer, Director General of the RTA, highlighted the project's importance, noting its role in enhancing Dubai's road network. The roundabout is a key intersection, linking major roads like Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street and Sheikh Rashid Street. Once all bridges are operational, average delays at the roundabout are expected to decrease from 12 minutes to just 90 seconds.
## Future Developments
Two additional bridges are under construction, set to open by October 2026. These will further improve traffic flow from Sheikh Rashid Street and Al Majlis Street towards 2nd December Street. The entire project is over 60% complete, promising significant improvements for residents and visitors alike.
## Benefits for Dubai
The project is expected to benefit over half a million people, enhancing connectivity to key areas such as the Dubai World Trade Centre and the Dubai International Financial Centre. For daily commuters and businesses, the improved road access means reduced travel times and better logistics.
