## UAE Students Shine Globally

Three students from the UAE have been recognized as Global Winners at the 2026 Global Undergraduate Awards (GUA), a prestigious international academic competition. This recognition highlights the UAE's growing reputation for academic excellence.

## Prestigious Awards

The Global Undergraduate Awards celebrate outstanding undergraduate work across various disciplines. The awards aim to identify and promote exceptional talent early in their academic careers, providing a global platform for recognition.

## Award-Winning Projects

Areebah Juned Siddiqui and Iman Akbar Ali from the American University of Sharjah were honored in the Architecture & Design category for their project "Earthen Futures: Catalysts of Resilience." Malavika Rajesh from New York University Abu Dhabi was recognized for her research on the impact of dowry on education and social norms in rural India.

## Additional Honors

In addition to the Global Winners, six UAE students were named Regional Winners, and six others received Highly Commended status. These accolades span fields such as computer science, visual arts, chemical and pharmaceutical sciences, and business and economics.

## Upcoming Summit

The winners will attend the GUA Summit in Dublin on November 10, 2026, where they will be celebrated alongside other global winners, academics, and judges. This event will also feature the presentation of the Thomas Clarkson Gold Medal.
