## A Tribute in Lights

On the night of September 10, 2026, a poignant tribute took place over New York Harbour as 2,977 illuminated drones formed the iconic Twin Towers. This display marked the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, with each light representing a life lost that day.

## Honoring the Victims

The installation was a collaborative effort involving families, survivors, and first responders from the 9/11 community. The number of lights was chosen to symbolize each individual victim, including those at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and aboard United Airlines Flight 93.

## A Public Act of Remembrance

Organizers emphasized that the event was not a reconstruction of the tragedy but a public act of remembrance. The lights initially appeared as separate points before forming the Twin Towers and then dissolving back, highlighting the personal stories behind the numbers.

## A Message of Resilience

US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy shared images of the tribute, expressing solidarity with victims and their families. The event aimed to keep the memory of the attacks alive for younger generations and reflect New York's resilience and the importance of public remembrance.
