## Record-Breaking Iftar in Beirut
Beirut recently hosted what is believed to be the largest Ramadan Iftar gathering globally, with over 5,700 participants. The event took place at the Biel waterfront exhibition centre and was organized by the charity Ajyaluna under the patronage of Prime Minister Nawaf Salam.
## A Message of Unity
The gathering aimed to promote unity and solidarity among Lebanon's diverse communities. Participants included orphans, Lebanese and Palestinian families, volunteers, and members of civil society organizations. The event sought to demonstrate that despite political and economic challenges, the country's communities can come together.
## Breaking Barriers
Lina Al Zaim Dada, head of the organizing association, emphasized the event's goal of fostering national cohesion and breaking down societal divisions. Attendees, including politicians and volunteers, shared the same meal, symbolizing equality and social solidarity.
## A Guinness World Record Attempt
Journalist Sobhi Kabbalawi noted that the gathering might be the largest of its kind, with a significant number of orphans and volunteers participating. The event also included Palestinian families, reinforcing the message of compassion and unity that Ramadan embodies.
