AirPods Pro 3 review: Apple’s biggest improvements are the ones you hear and feel

## Key Improvements

Apple's AirPods Pro 3 bring significant enhancements in noise cancellation, sound quality, fit, and battery life. These earbuds are particularly appealing to iPhone users who prioritize these features.

## Design and Features

The AirPods Pro 3 maintain the familiar short stem design but introduce changes in earbud shape and ear tip positioning for a more secure fit. They now offer five sizes of silicone tips, including a new XXS option, and use foam-infused microspheres to enhance the acoustic seal. The earbuds are powered by Apple's H2 chip and feature a custom driver and amplifier.

Key features include Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), Adaptive Audio, Transparency mode, and Personalized Spatial Audio. The earbuds and charging case are rated IP57 for dust, sweat, and water resistance. The case supports multiple charging options, although a USB C cable is not included.

## Performance

The AirPods Pro 3 excel in noise cancellation, reportedly removing up to twice as much noise as the previous model. They are particularly effective in reducing low-frequency sounds, making them ideal for environments like flights and public transport.

Sound quality has also improved, with a smoother low end and more dynamic upper range. The fit is more secure, addressing issues of older models becoming loose over time.

Battery life sees a modest improvement, with up to eight hours of listening time with ANC on, and up to 24 hours with the charging case.

## Who Should Upgrade?

The AirPods Pro 3 are a compelling choice for iPhone users looking to upgrade from older AirPods or other wireless earbuds. They are especially beneficial for frequent travelers due to the enhanced ANC. However, current AirPods Pro 2 owners may only find the upgrade necessary if they seek better noise cancellation, fit, or battery life.
