## Arrest in Bekaa Region

Suleiman Hilal Al Assad, a relative of former Syrian president Bashar Al Assad, was apprehended by the Lebanese army in the Bekaa region of eastern Lebanon. The arrest took place on a Friday, involving two other individuals.

## Allegations of Drug Use

According to a Lebanese security source, the trio was allegedly caught using drugs. The source, who wished to remain anonymous, confirmed that Suleiman Hilal Al Assad is a civilian and not linked to any military service.

## Notable Co-Arrestee

Among those detained was Ali, the son of Nouh Zaiter, a well-known figure in Lebanon's drug trafficking circles. Zaiter himself was arrested by Lebanese authorities in late 2025 and is under sanctions from the US, UK, and Europe.

## Investigation Underway

The detainees have been transferred to the Lebanese Ministry of Defence for further questioning. As of now, no additional details about the arrests or potential charges have been disclosed.
