## New Shipping Route

Saudi Arabia's importers and exporters now have a direct shipping route connecting them to key Asian and Mediterranean trade hubs. This development follows the maiden call of the Morten Maersk at Jeddah's South Container Terminal, part of the AE15 Gemini service operated by Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd.

## Expanded Connectivity

The AE15 service now includes Jeddah in its rotation, providing direct access to major ports in China, Malaysia, and the Mediterranean. This addition is part of a structural change announced in July 2026, aimed at enhancing transit times between Asia and Europe.

## Infrastructure Investments

DP World is investing in Jeddah's South Container Terminal to boost efficiency and capacity. The enhancements include new equipment, increased automation, and efforts towards decarbonization.
