Dubai trains 120 Emirati retirees for private security roles

## New Initiative for Retirees

Dubai's Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA) has launched a training program for over 120 Emirati retirees, aiming to integrate their expertise into the private security sector. This initiative is part of SIRA's broader effort to utilize the skills of retired nationals and enhance their contribution to the industry.

## Training Details

The two-week course, which began recently, is conducted at the security cadres training center. It combines theoretical lessons with practical training, involving experts from both military and civilian backgrounds. This approach is designed to prepare participants for roles in private security.

## Selection Process

Interest in the program was high, with over 400 applications received after its announcement in January 2026. Following assessments in July, more than 120 retirees were selected to participate.

## Leadership Insights

Khalifa Ibrahim Al Sulais, CEO of SIRA, emphasized the importance of retirees as a national asset, highlighting their experience and knowledge. Engineer Arif Al Janahi, a Security Adviser at SIRA, welcomed participants, underscoring their valuable role in national security.
