## Incident Details

The attack on the MT El Gaia occurred on Sunday, with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claiming the tanker hit naval mines while navigating a prohibited route in the Strait of Hormuz. The IRGC reported that the tanker caught fire and was completely engulfed in flames.

## Call for De-escalation

The MEA has condemned the attack and called for a reduction in regional tensions. They stressed the need for dialogue and diplomacy to restore peace and ensure safe navigation through international waterways.
