Abu Dhabi Agriculture launches fifth edition of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Agricultural Excellence Award

## Launch of the Fifth Edition

The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has unveiled the fifth edition of the Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Agricultural Excellence Award for 2026-2027. This edition, announced at a press conference in Abu Dhabi, offers a total prize pool of AED10 million across 13 categories.

## New Categories and Competitions

This year introduces two new categories: Best Supporting Marketing Outlet and Agricultural Impact Maker. The award will feature 97 competitions, a 26% increase from the previous edition, and will include five festivals as part of the Sheikh Zayed Festival in Al Wathba.

## Focus on Innovation and Food Security

The award aims to promote excellence and innovation in agriculture, enhancing the UAE's food security. It encourages community participation, aligning with the UAE's Year of the Family 2026, and emphasizes the shared responsibility of agriculture.

## Participation and Evaluation

Farmers and livestock breeders across the UAE are invited to participate, with registration open until December 15, 2026. The award process includes desk-based assessments and field evaluations by specialized committees, culminating in a closing ceremony in April 2027.

## Expanding Opportunities

The award's expansion reflects the diversity of the UAE's agricultural sector, offering opportunities for young entrepreneurs and women farmers. It aims to foster innovation and sustainability, aligning with international standards and enhancing Abu Dhabi's role as a hub for agricultural development.
